Feedback is mostly positive. The strongest signal is that students say they actually learn something useful. Best for students who want substance, not a disposable elective.

Student Reports
How hard is the A?
More reachable A
Student comments make the grading bar sound relatively reachable. This reads more like a course where steady work is rewarded than one where students describe the A as unusually hard to land.
Homework Load
Moderate homework load
Homework load looks moderate. The recurring signal is steady weekly work, but not a course that turns every assignment into a grind.
Lecture Load
Lighter lecture burden
Student comments describe this as more discussion-, seminar-, or workshop-driven than lecture-dependent. The lecture burden itself does not sound like the main source of friction.
Strengths
Students repeatedly say the course teaches something concrete, whether that is content mastery, research skill, or a strong foundation.
Readings, films, or outside materials come up repeatedly as a real strength rather than filler.
Tradeoffs
There is no single dominant complaint theme, but the feedback is not uniformly glowing either.
Best fit for
Best for students who want substance, not a disposable elective.

Student Responses

I learned how to communicate with people I didn't know well, learning more about the way they think.
Fall 2025 · Daily, Shaundra
Nothing very precise to be fully honest. I learned how to appreciate some art that I wouldn't have encountered otherwise. I think this class probably wasn't intended for a senior, and maybe more as a first year, I would've appreciated this.
Fall 2025 · Daily, Shaundra
I learned how to communicate with people who are different from me, I learned about other's perspectives in the form of the audience speakers, and I learned how to practice wellness in my own life.

I will answer the questions I feel pertinent. Otherwise, I will leave a smiley face in them.
Fall 2025 · Daily, Shaundra
Learned how to communicate across differences, analyze art and science, and make data driven arguments.
